Emergent behavior appears when a number of smaller or simpler entities operate in an environment, forming more complex behavior as a collective. 出現 is a generative piece that uses sound and fog to explore such phenomenon. The audio component is realized through custom designed software using algorithmic processes to mimic the behavior of self-organizing systems. Similarly, the fog machine produces a cloud of fog whose global behavior is a result of the individual water droplets suspended in the air.
